"Samolet" collected more than 100 liters of blood for a charity event

As a result, we were able to collect over 100 liters of blood, which will be sent to medical institutions.
Donor Day is not a one-time initiative for Samolet: the company has been holding such events every two months since 2024. Over the entire period, more than 1,000 people have taken part in them, and the total amount of donated blood can save the lives of 4,000 adults or 8,000 children.
Alexandra Gorchakova, Director of HR and Sustainable Development at the Samolet Group, noted that donation has become part of the corporate culture.
One donation of 450 ml can help four adults or eight children, she stressed.
Maria Appalup, chief physician of the O. K. Gavrilov Blood Center, added that businesses are increasingly joining the donor movement. Off-site events allow employees to donate blood without interrupting their work, which makes the process convenient and systematic, she explained.
According to VTsIOM, 40% of Russians have donated blood at least once, but only 18% are regular donors. This points to the need to popularize donation, in which business plays an increasingly prominent role.
In addition to blood donation, many private companies are pursuing other initiatives. For example, Samolet is developing a bone marrow donation program in partnership with the Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University. Since 2019, the university center has been creating a donor database integrated into the federal registry, which speeds up the search for compatible candidates for patients across the country.
A systematic approach to donation helps replenish blood supplies and save lives, experts say. In conditions where the need for donor blood remains high, such initiatives are becoming an important part of business social policy.
